Our powder coating booth measures 65'L × 16'W × 14'H and feeds the largest powder coating oven in the Pacific Northwest. If your part fits those dimensions and can be trucked to us, we can almost certainly coat it. For unusual sizes or weights, send dimensions to our estimating team and we'll confirm.
Powder coating generally offers better chip resistance, color retention, and a more uniform finish, and it's excellent for most steel fabrications. Liquid systems are the right choice when a specification calls for zinc-rich primers, high-solids epoxies, or urethanes — common for bridges, marine service, and other harsh environments. We're happy to recommend the right system for your application and spec.
Duplex coating pairs hot-dip galvanizing with a powder or liquid topcoat. We handle the topcoat side: have your steel galvanized by the galvanizer of your choice, bring it to us, and we'll sweep blast it and apply a powder or liquid finish engineered to bond to zinc. The zinc provides sacrificial corrosion protection while the topcoat adds color, UV resistance, and a second barrier — the combined system typically lasts significantly longer than either coating alone. It's ideal for coastal, marine, and critical infrastructure where repainting is costly.
Yes. We operate two dedicated sandblast booths, including a 65-foot booth with a full-floor media recovery system. Blasting in-house means the time between surface prep and coating is minimized, which is critical for coating adhesion and quality.
Powder coating is available in a wide range of colors, glosses, and textures, including custom color matches. Liquid systems can be tinted to match most specifications. Tell us your RAL number, color chip, or spec and we'll take it from there.
We maintain a comprehensive quality control system covering every production stage, have successfully performed work on WSDOT-certified projects, and our QPL listing is currently in progress. We work to applicable ASTM standards and can provide the documentation your project requires.
Yes. We shop-apply intumescent fire-resistive coatings for structural steel in our dedicated paint booth. Shop application gives you consistent, documented film thickness and reduces costly field fireproofing work. Send us your fire-rating requirement and steel list and we'll recommend a system.
Email our estimating team at estimating@unitedcoatingsinc.com or call (360) 404-5840. The more you can include — drawings, part dimensions, quantities, steel condition, coating spec or color, and your timeline — the faster and more accurate your quote will be.
Turnaround depends on project size, coating system, and current shop load. Because blasting, powder, and paint all happen in-house, we typically turn work faster than a multi-vendor process. Ask for a schedule commitment with your quote.
